I warn you right away: this week I don't come with answers. I come with questions (but from new questions !). I decided to talk to you about an idea read in Chloé Romengas' (excellent) book: Stripes and Ratures 2 – For Life : What if, finally, the zebra needed "just" to be in constant motion to be happy?
Theme: The movement
Here we go for the nice email of the week. 💫
🏁 Partons du constat
Let's start at the beginning: why this idea?
Legend says HP always need renewal. We're passionate about something, we're going 200%, it's becoming our new life mission, we're even becoming an expert. Then we get tired. You can see a bright new thing next door that looks much more interesting.
And the cycle starts again.
In fact, the HP is not a zebra but a pie attracted by the slightest brilliant thing.
And this zebra-pie legend is true in many of your messages: changes in companies, passions, activities, ...
So, the same way some don't like it. partying But rather drink alcohol, why would we not prefer movement rather than Change ?
If it happens, what we like is not the re-orientation as such, but rather the continuous movement that is required when we seek to reinvent ourselves.
In fact, the HP is not a stake but a phoenix that needs to be reborn from its ashes regularly.
(Or a snake. Or an insect. But I found the phoenix sexier)
Anyway, I loved that idea. She talks to me a lot.
Then where does it come from?
This is a very good question which I will try to give some answers.
Fear of boredom?
HP would be very afraid of boredom (there is nothing scientifically verified here). It could be because, when you get bored, you're alone with your brain. The latter would then have the free way to go in all directions (and that is terrifying!).
👉🏻 Trouver toujours une nouvelle occupation permet de rester en mouvement
Love the challenge?
If you want me to do something, introduce it to me as a challenge.
« Paul, can you empty the washing machine please? will not have the same result as " Paul I bet you won't be able to empty it in less than three minutes.« .
And that's been the case in a lot of new activities that I started. I have always seen "renewing" myself as a new challenge.
Don't you?
The movement is always a new challenge.
The fear of death / desire to "test everything"?
It's not Death which scares me, but rather death without being able to do everything I wanted to do.
I love to watch people live in their apartments and in their homes by going on the street (psychopath bonjouuur). It reminds me that there are so many different life choices, so many different options.
I was only 28 years old (and 5 days!) and had the chance to experience rich and varied personal and professional experiences. But I don't expect to die having been able to be a doctor, high-performance athlete, military – paratrooper, university teacher, president, artist, TV presenter, restaurant boss, gogo dancer, chemist, florist, zoologist and many others!
The most stressful thing is that I won't have time to do everything. There are too many options and not enough time.
But staying in perpetual motion allows me to check new boxes regularly
My new move
I hesitated a long time before posting this part of the newsletter. But after writing, erasing, and rewriting, I leave it!

See you on Tuesday (and Friday for some)
As Lorie says so well: "I go fast, I train to not lose a second"
Love & keep mooving,
